The surgeon

Dr. Bhargav Kuchu

BDS, MDS · Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr. Bhargav Kuchu is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon whose practice is built around complex surgical care, precision and multidisciplinary collaboration. His clinical interests include facial trauma, TMJ disorders and surgery, orthognathic surgery, dental implant surgery, oral pathology and cancer surgery, facial aesthetics, and complex reconstructive procedures.

He completed his MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at SVS Institute of Dental Sciences and has subsequently sought training beyond conventional postgraduate practice, deliberately learning from centres and surgeons known for managing complex surgical problems.

A significant part of this journey was his observership at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore in 2024, one of India's most respected centres for plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery, with an international reputation for complex reconstructive work. The exposure strengthened his understanding of advanced facial reconstruction, soft-tissue management and the principles of combining functional restoration with aesthetic outcomes.

His interest in TMJ surgery and joint reconstruction has also led him to advanced hands-on training, including a Total Joint Replacement cadaveric workshop at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he was exposed to contemporary protocols for TMJ replacement, patient-specific planning and management of complex temporomandibular joint pathology.

In 2026, he was selected for an international AO CMF Fellowship at Rajavithi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, within the Department of ENT, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Rajavithi is one of Thailand's major government tertiary care hospitals, and the fellowship provides exposure to advanced facial trauma, reconstructive and craniofacial surgery in a high volume specialist environment. AO CMF fellowships are highly regarded international training opportunities in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery.

Over the years, Dr. Kuchu has had the opportunity to learn from and work alongside several respected names in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, trauma, facial plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery. These interactions have shaped not only his surgical technique, but also his approach to decision making: knowing when a case can be managed independently, when another specialist's expertise is valuable, and when the best outcome comes from bringing the right people together.

He continues to maintain professional relationships with experienced surgeons and specialists across disciplines and collaborates with a wider network of experts when a patient's treatment requires expertise beyond a single specialty.

At STHIRA, this philosophy is central to his practice. The aim is not simply to perform a procedure, but to bring together the right expertise for each patient and provide continuity of care under one roof.

Dr Kuchu is in Bangkok on the AO CMF fellowship, which runs until 23 October. Call or WhatsApp the clinic for his next available time.

Areas of clinical expertise

What he treats

Fixing a broken jaw or cheekbone, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ arthroscopy and tumour surgery need an operating theatre, so they are done in hospital. Dr Kuchu is a visiting consultant maxillofacial surgeon at Bhoomi Hospitals, Manikonda; Madhavanji Hospitals, Tukkuguda; Kondeti Hospital, Tukkuguda; and Wellness Hospitals, Begumpet, and you are told which hospital before you are admitted. Cancer surgery is not done at the clinic; if you need it, we help you reach an oncology centre. Wisdom tooth removal and implant placement are done here, and so are consultation, planning and follow-up.
