Fillings
A filling removes decay and rebuilds the tooth with a bonded, tooth-coloured composite. Caught early, a cavity is a short appointment. Left alone, the same tooth eventually needs a root canal and a crown, which is why check-ups are worth keeping.
Who this is for
- Cavities found at examination
- Chipped or worn edges
- Old silver fillings being replaced
What actually happens
- Examination and X-ray where the contact points cannot be seen directly
- Removal of decay under local anaesthetic where needed
- Layered composite, shaped and polished to match the tooth
